LG Business Solutions launched a new high-brightness product line
Designed for arenas, stadiums, retail stores, restaurants, hospitals, schools, transportation centers, hotels, etc. The six models of the GSCA multi-function series, GSCC basic series and GSCD ultra-light series have standard pixel pitches of 3.9 mm to 16 mm, which can be controlled by webOS, remote diagnosis and failover protection functions for vibrant outdoor viewing.
Specifically, the GSCA multifunction series allows users to combine 1:1 (500 mm square) and 2:1 (500 mm x 1000 mm rectangle) cabinet options to create customized displays that best meet customer needs. Since the cabinet is equipped with an open frame structure, modular data and power supply, comfortable handle and manual lock, the process of installing and removing this 5,000 nit LED signage display is very simple, and no other tools are required, which makes it Solutions for leasing and phased application. Both GSCA models have IP65 front and rear ratings, and offer 3.9 mm and 4.6 mm pixel pitches.
The GSCC Essential series is designed for simplified assembly, fast maintenance and customizable screen ratios, with three pitch sizes: 6.66 mm, 8 mm and 16 mm. Like its counterpart GSCA, GSCC is also an option for rental and stage professionals, with the same simplified installation and removal mechanism. The independent power supply and control unit design also simplifies maintenance.
GSCC series cabinets can be assembled into almost any screen size, including 16:9, 8:9 and 4:3, so that customers can customize their LED signage displays according to their specific installation needs. The 6.66mm and 8mm models have a brightness of 5,000 nits, while the 16mm model has a brightness of 8,000 nits. The protection level of all three models is IP65 and the protection level is IP54.
The lightweight 10mm pixel pitch and the GSCD UltraLight series with IP65 front and rear protection levels complete these new outdoor models. When you worry about weight, it provides installers and end users with more choices. When a large LED sign display is installed, the lightweight cabinet greatly reduces the weight. The power supply and control unit of the display can also be removed for easy maintenance.
The front and back of each series of cabinets have passed the IP protection level, can be used outdoors, and can operate stably in weather and harmful outdoor environments. In order to facilitate maintenance and repair, each series provides before and after access, so that customers can choose installation options according to the application environment. They are also protected by failover technology, which automatically rolls over to 16GB of internal storage when the media player fails. The failover alternative itself can consist of a single file, URL or even a separate media player pulled from another port.

Jeddah: Saudi technology startup Foodics has successfully secured a Series B financing of US$20 million. The main backers include the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund.
This round of financing was led by PIF's subsidiary Sanabil Investments and Saudi venture capital firm STV. Other investors include Endeavor Catalyst, Elm and Derayah.
This new investment will enable Foodics to grow in existing markets, accelerate its international expansion, increase its workforce and expand its financial technology (fintech) products.
The latest round of financing brings the company's total funds raised so far to 28 million US dollars.
Foodics was established in 2014 and is headquartered in Riyadh, with operations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and offices in the UAE and Egypt. Its software is available in English, Arabic and French, and Spanish is being developed.
Foodics provides its Kitchen Display System (KDS), which sends orders from customers directly to the kitchen’s display screen, and then staff can prepare the order and send it out for delivery.
The platform processes approximately $200 million in transactions per month. Currently, it works with 24,000 restaurants in the area and has set a goal of reaching 70,000 restaurants by the end of the year.
Co-founder and CEO Ahmad Al-Zaini said: "We are very pleased to start the new year with such a high score and have received the support and trust of such outstanding investors. 2020 is a difficult year, during which we actively seized opportunities."
Foodics promotes itself as the support, trust and strong partner of the community. During the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the company opened instant loans through its microfinance service, Foodics Capital, so that customers can compensate for operating expenses and losses caused by the global health crisis.
Foodics Capital provided loans ranging from 18,750 riyals (US$4,998) to 500,000 rials to small Saudi food and beverage operators and was approved within 7 days.
STV partner Ahmad Al-Naimi said that Foodics has strategically become the de facto platform that connects digital players with offline retailers. The company is also one of only three companies to obtain a financial technology license from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) in November.
Prior to the announcement, data research platform Magnitt recently released a report that stated that Saudi Arabia accounted for 18% of the 496 investment transactions conducted in the entire Middle East and North Africa last year.
By 2020, the number of investment transactions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of technology entrepreneurship will increase by 35% year-on-year, and the currency value of transactions will increase by 55% year-on-year to reach US$152 million.
STV stated in an October article that since 2018, STV has led 30% of all venture capital funds in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It also claimed that despite having US$500 million in capital, its portfolio of companies including Careem, Trukker and Tabby processed transactions worth more than US$3.7 billion and generated revenue of US$480 million.
Arcapita Group Holdings, a Bahrain-based investment company, announced Monday that it has acquired student housing at Clemson University in South Carolina as part of its growing investment in such projects in the United States.
The Clemson Lofts transaction follows the recent acquisition of Quarry Trail, the student housing at the University of Tennessee.
The total value of the two transactions is US$120 million, increasing the number of student dormitories owned by Arcapita to about 1,500.
Clemson Lofts is a 640-bed student dormitory about one mile from Clemson University, the second largest university in South Carolina. Currently, its average occupancy rate is 99%.
Quarry Trail is an 840-bed student housing unit in Knoxville, which was acquired by Arcapita in January last year.
Arcapita Managing Director Brian Hebb said in a press statement: "These acquisitions mark our entry into the U.S. student housing sub-industry with great potential. Our target assets are assets that provide services to large public universities. The university has more than 10,000 undergraduates and is about one to three miles away from campus."
Martin Tan, Chief Investment Officer of Arcapita, added: "The U.S. student housing industry has more than 20 million college students and less than 1 million dedicated student dormitory beds. It is in an early stage of short supply and has huge potential for growth. We look forward to working with our operations. The partners work closely to build a large and diversified student housing investment portfolio across the United States."
Arcapita has offices in Atlanta, London and Singapore, and subsidiary offices in Bahrain. In the past 24 years, it has recorded 90 investments with a total transaction value of more than $30 billion.

BrightSign Media Player is powering the new installation of Tattersalls Auctions, demonstrating how the historic sales environment retains its traditional and classic atmosphere, while using digital AV technology to enhance the visitor experience.
Tattersalls is a household name in the racing world and a leading European auctioneer of descent. Tattersalls was founded by Richard Tattersall in 1766. It sells National Hunt and Flat Horses to global bidders in sales activities that are shown on a global scale.
Last year, more than 7,000 horses were sold at the Tattersalls factory. The auctioneer is headquartered in Newmarket, England, and owns another auction house in Ratoath, County Meath, Ireland. Tattersalls is also sold in two very capricious locations in Ascot and Cheltenham, UK.
During the sales day, Tattersalls used the AV system to display the batch number and price of Guinea, as well as videos surrounding horse racing. Depending on the audience, other currencies will also be displayed, including Hong Kong dollars, Japanese yen, and UAE Dirhams.
The original display system at the auction site has been in operation for about 20 years, but has finally reached the end of its useful life. Composed of various LED segments in a cardboard housing, the displays at all sites looked tired, inflexible to use, and unable to operate via RF feeds.
Tattersalls turned to Spectra Displays for help, which proposed a complete turnkey system based on BrightSign players, mixing full-featured high-tech displays into the auctioneer’s historic buildings. According to the UK’s "Listed Buildings" regulations, this is a legal requirement to keep of.

By using the BrightSign XT1144 player, the Spectra digital signage obtains the video signal from the camera on the main ring, overlays its text on the live lens, and displays it on the LED screens of Spectra's indoor WM series and outdoor HV series.
On all sites, the screen will display the bid number, the price in the appropriate currency, and the horse’s characteristics and breeze videos, where bidders can watch medium-speed horses. Different screens display the same core content, and the display mode is adjusted according to the size of the monitor.
For example, the smallest screen only displays the current lot size and the price of horses in Guinea. On some displays, there are quotes of several previously traded stocks and their trade prices in Guinea. Content is streamed online, benefiting remote bidders around the world.
"We either write custom PC applications or find players that allow more interactive features," said Richard Handley, manager of Spectra Displays. "Other players can trigger input, but users will not be able to make them write their own scripts without creating HTML5 web pages."
The final LED installation of Newmarket and Ratoath used five 5x3m LED screens and many smaller displays. The installation of both sites includes video screens in the main sales area and duplicate screens at the entrance and exit.
The outdoor rolling signs on the Newmarket parade ground have been supplemented by additional outdoor monitors, including four screens placed around the pillars on the parade ground. Given that the COVID-19 venue has reduced indoor space, this It is a huge advantage limit.
In Ratoath, the screen on the side of the building can be viewed comfortably from the restaurant area, and the large screen in the horse block allows everyone to understand the sales progress “behind the scenes”.
Spectra is also able to provide display solutions for temporary sites in Cheltenham and Ascot. In Cheltenham, they provided Tattersalls with flight box screens. These screens were installed on fixed brackets on site before sales and hung from the back of the sales ring.
The cable linked to the player is permanently left in place. Ascot is equipped with permanent internal and external screens in many locations, including staff quarters and dining facilities.
Spectra uses BrightAuthor to create a template and then combines it with its own PC application to control real-time content on all players. Spectra uses this custom PC software to control many BrightSign players on the site, so that the content on the screen can be updated in real time.
For example, they used BrightAuthor to create templates for batch numbers and prices, so they can gradually update these templates to keep up with the rapid pace of sales. The player also allows the auctioneer to switch between live sales and breeze video.
The video feed from the XT1144 player is combined with the auxiliary BrightSign player running the BrightAuthor script, and the batch number is used to play the breeze video for playback. Using the "insert real-time window" function in BrightAuthor, the breeze video is displayed in the corner of the screen, and the batch number and sales summary are displayed in full screen.
Jimmy George, Marketing Director of Tattersalls, said: "The finished installation perfectly blends with the traditional aesthetics of our building. We are happy about it." "We are particularly pleased that the display is placed outside the parade ring and can be viewed from any direction. Watch real-time updates.
"The reliability and consistency of LED displays and BrightSign players have always been outstanding features. We are always looking to improve our sales process."
BrightAuthor's "drag and drop" feature allows Tattersalls to easily make changes to the template itself, such as adjusting the layout or changing the text size, without any complicated reprogramming. This feature has proven useful.
Initially, the previous batch number records were surrounded on the main screen behind the sales circle, but it turned out that this was a distraction for the audience, so Tattersalls deleted it himself.
In addition to driving the display, BrightSign players also provide bid information overlays for other LCD screens in the auction house, often displaying simple real-time videos of sales.
Handley said: "Tattersalls is very dependent on the smooth operation of the screen during the sales day." PC crashes or accidental updates will seriously damage sales. The live broadcast is not only used for live broadcasts, but also saved as a legal record of every transaction. "
The installation of Tattersalls shows that digital signage technology using BrightSign technology can be successfully introduced into historic buildings, while retaining its characteristics while providing a 21st century customer experience.
E-sports has grown from a niche market to a billion-dollar industry, attracting more attention from broadcasters, advertisers and fans, and increasing the stakes for the entire gaming experience.
According to Dylen Roberts, chief broadcast engineer at Hi-Rez Studios, "Having the right communication system is a big part of this.
Hi-Rez is a game developer and e-sports event production company based in Atlanta. It relies on Clear-Com’s HelixNet digital network Partyline, LQ series IP interfaces and Agent-IC mobile applications to facilitate interaction between its team and technical staff High-quality communication. .
The company organizes multiplayer game competitions, enabling the events to be broadcast on games and online platforms such as Twitch, Steam, Facebook and YouTube. Their schedules are demanding, with an average of up to six league matches per week, and their scale, scope and communication needs vary.
Roberts said: "We broadcast five to six days a week, one broadcast lasts eight hours, and it's still growing." "We absolutely need to master our communication functions."
Typical production staff for Hi-Rez game events may include digital producers, directors, technical directors, playback and graphics operators, stage screen operators, lighting and management teams.
With HelixNet, all parties can talk and listen to other channels as needed, and have peer-to-peer conversations with team members, and can choose to turn on or off different audio streams as needed during the entire event.
He said: "It's a one-stop shopping." "It's nice not to have to route 15 different things through multiple sources. For example, our audio operators can mix audio through program sources without having to change headphones. Our production team Can talk to talents without running other IP systems.
He said: "All the different functions are easy to use, and all data transmitted through the system is clean with almost no delay."
With the emergence of COVID, Hi-Rez is required to transfer all of its business online. In addition to its wireless HelixNet matrix, it also needs remote production capabilities. As different needs emerged, Roberts continued to add to the HelixNet system.
He said: "This is where the modular design of these systems really comes into play." "As we grow and face sudden obstacles, the system is scalable and easy to change and expand."
To meet their new remote communication needs, Roberts chose to add multiple LQ units. These systems extend the functionality and intercom channels of the HelixNet system by interacting with remote personnel who download the Agent-IC mobile application to their smart phone, tablet or wearable device.
Agent-IC connects to LQ through 3G, 4G, LTE and Wi-Fi networks, and provides users with a fully functional intercom client that can monitor the HelixNet system and receive IFB feeds.
As the e-sports industry develops and grows, Roberts and Hi-Rez Studios believe that the Clear-Com system will keep pace with the times and continue to evolve, continuing to provide higher quality, clarity, speed and a more streamlined production process.
He said: "Our communication system is a real game changer, and I easily know that it will cause the challenges we need."
